System design has been longstanding contentious issue. Some prefer different solutions than the others, nevertheless it is the manufacturer who has final say. There is no difference in Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview case. However, thanks to Insider Program, users significantly affected look and functions of the system, and the Microsoft does its best to hit a chords and give as wide spectrum of phone functionalities and personalization options as possible to make user feel his own individual style.
Also graphic artists and designers took a prominent role in development, introducing their visions on blogs and web portals, which definitely Gabe’s team had a look at, as many of presented ideas were moved alive into system project. I wish so will be with Robson Ricardo Jobs’ project, which for now on has been viewed over thirty thousand times on Behance* (which is one of the higher scores on this website) and it had much more repercussions on other web portals. So did we also decide to present you Brazilian’s ideas, and this is what he said about his graphics and Windows 10 Mobile:
Mikołaj Cichański with Robson JobsHello!MC: How long did it took you to prepare such graphics and where do you get inspiration and ideas from?
RJ: Well, I worked on this project since about September 2015, when I installed Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview in my primary phone. But the project didn’t take that long because I worked in it only in my free time. It was like a hobby, spend time observing the OS as it was and imagining ways to improve it.MC: I guess you are W10M user – so what are your impressions?
RJ: My impressions of Windows 10 Mobile are not all bad. Microsoft is doing a good job, bringing functions to their mobile system to elevate it to the level of competitors. The only mistake was not thinking much on usability and design of what was developing. W10M have good features, but usability is bad and the design is terrible. I still have hope that they bring to ‚Redstone’ the dozens of aesthetic improvements that the system needs to become pleasing to the common user.MC: Have you made any steps to contact Microsoft or the like?
RJ: The project had a lot of repercussion, much more than I expected, then I think Microsoft already has seen. I don’t believe that Microsoft will copy this project in its entirety, but really hope they take note of what was done here and the feedback offered by those who have seen this work.
Words are one thing, but now you can organolepticly check and rate how the visualization presents ;)
You may better switch to Wi-Fi connection if you use cellular data, as pictures are in high resolution and this may take big amount off your transfer pack.
If you want to see whole project you may visit its website on Behance.
In my opinion, graphics presents astonishing and I’d like to see at least part of this improvements in ‘Redstone’ updates. What are your opinions on this topic? Which of presented ideas you consider the best improvement?
